I have the privilege to serve as Pastor at Beulah Baptist church located in Sunbury, North Carolina.
I am the second of four sons of Ken and Ivye Hall of Chesapeake, Va. I grew up in Cradock Baptist Church of Portsmouth, Virginia and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord when I was eight years old. I remained close to the Lord until high school days. I still attended Taylor Road Baptist Church regularly, but I yielded to the temptations of youth. At eighteen, I married Laura King of Portsmouth, Virginia. Over the next few years, we were blessed with two children, Amy and Chris.
When I was twenty-one years old, my life began to fall apart. Both of our children were very sick and for the first time in years, I began to examine my life. Experiencing this caused me to remember my God and the commitments that I had made to Him over the years. I re-dedicated my life to Him but more than that, I finally surrendered to His control of my life. The next couple of years were filled with tremendous struggles, but they yielded fantastic spiritual growth.
At twenty-four years of age, I accepted God’s call upon my life to preach the gospel. As I look back over my life, I realize that God began calling me as early as eleven years old. Believing that His call was first a call to prepare and then a call to serve, I enrolled in college at Campbell University. I went on to earn a BA in Religious Education, Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and continued in post graduate work in church revitalization at Reformed Theological Seminary.
I have had the privilege of serving churches in Virginia and North Carolina. Laura and I have traveled on mission trips to the Ukraine, Peru and Aruba. We have also worked with NC Diaster Relief in Florida and North Carolina. Missions is extremely important both home and abroad.
God continues His blessings on us with four granddaughters and one grandson. As our family continues to grow, we are excited about how God will continue to use us in His High Calling. Our fervent prayer is that we will always follow Him. For just as Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life” John 6:68 (NASB), we too believe that Jesus is the only way.
Because of His Cross and for His Glory,
Pastor Tom
